This was my floor lamp before. It had an ugly yellowish gold color and a shade that didn’t look good. I came across a method to make brass look like chrome and decided to give it a try. The basic idea is to use a strong chemical with steel wool and scrub the gold layer away. The end result is a piece that looks like chrome because the metal color under the brass layer is revealed. Here’s my results:

The shade was the only thing that I bought for this project so total costs were under 9 euros! I’m so happy with the end result because it made me love this lamp again. Now it looks modern and new instead of old and dated!
