Metal Candle Holder Makeovers

Metal candle holder makeover with paint before

Metal candle holder makeover with paint after

I bought these a week ago from a thrift store. I really liked the shape, but the paint was chipping and the dark green color was not really my favorite. I probably should have spray painted them, but I didn’t have enough black spray paint home, so I painted them using a brush (I can be so impatient sometimes!).

The result is not as smooth as I would have hoped for, but it’s enough for now. I can always spray paint them if I ever feel like the paint is bothering me too much. :) And now that they’re already black, I won’t need as much spray paint!

Pendant light design

This is what I’ve been working on at school lately. It’s a prototype of a pendant light I designed. It’s made of solid birch, acrylic and painted aluminum. The lamp gives bright, direct light below and soft, indirect light above through the opaque plastic. Hope you like it! :)

Winter decoration with candles and pinecones

Nice, simple wintery decoration: candles, concrete candleholders and pinecones. Nothing more. Perfection to me. :)

Candle Light

Candle light, tea lights

It is almost the darkest time of finnish winter and without snow it almost feels like there’s no proper daylight at all… This makes it impossible to take good photographs, because daylight happens to be the best light to shoot in. That’s why I don’t have anything new to show you today…

So all I can do is light a few candles and drink lots of hot tea… because they are the only good things about this darkness. :)
