Mirror, Mirror…
The long search is over: I finally found the perfect mirror for our entry!
It’s old and worn, the perfect color and just the right size. It’s so old that even the backside is solid wood! I believe it was once attached to a vanity, because it has holes on each side. I found it while we were touring different thrift stores in Tampere. This was the first thing I saw when I entered the room… And the best part: it only cost 22 euros! I think it was so cheap because somewhere along the way someone had attached an ugly pineapple transfer sticker to the glass (?!?). But I was able to remove it with a bit of paint stripper and scraping (phew!).
Is’nt it so pretty?

For Craft Fair
We are having a craft fair in our school next week and I decided to try and sell something. I made these Christmas ornaments to sell at the fair. Hope someone will buy them!
The wooden star is really easy to make, I drilled holes at the ends of the sticks and combined them with jute string. I think they are pretty as is, but they could also be decorated with lights, ribbons or beads.
I’m also making some concrete candleholders to sell. They are drying as I type…

Christmas Decoration
Just some easy Christmas decoration we have on display. Paper star bunting and ornaments on a silver plate. Instructions for the lovely paper star can be found here from blog home by linn.

More Christmas Decoration: Branch Heart Ornament
Just brought home this white heart ornament made of branches. I liked the way it looked and didn’t cost much so I bought it. I removed the bright red ribbon it had and replaced it with a nicer black and white stripe ribbon. This will go on our front door when December starts.
Are you planning to put some decoration on your front door this Christmas? Or do you think it’s old fashioned or just too much?

Diy Chalkboard
This was my first time using chalkboard paint. I wanted to make a big chalkboard from a piece of MDF I had leftover from our upholstered headboard. I painted the MDF two times with a foam roller to make the the chalkboard as smooth as possible and then let it dry. Fast and easy!
Here’s how it looks in our living room:
I like the texture and look of the empty chalkboard so much that I haven’t written anything on it yet. Now it’s like a big piece of abstract art and looks so soothing. Maybe I’ll find a nice quote or something to fill it soon…
