Future Projects
I have a couple of makeover projects on my to do -list.
First project is an old rocking chair we got for free:
You can see that it’s a bit beat up, so I’ll use some wood filler on it. I’m thinking of painting it glossy black, but I want to add some unique detail to it. Maybe just strip the existing lacquer and show the wood on some parts? That would look nice! We’ll see..
Another project I have coming up is our dining table:
It looks fine in the first picture but the paint is chipping on the surface and it has all sorts of marks from it’s long life. It was originally bought for me as a work desk and it’s about ten years old. I want to strip the existing lacquer off the table top and try staining it with vinegar+steel wool stain. I want it to be a greyish brown and to look like old wood. The base will be painted white. A darker table top will add some contrast to the otherwise white dining area. I like white, but now it feels just a bit too white with the white table, white chairs and white curtains. Hope it will look better after the makeover!
I will post both finished projects hopefully during May, so stay tuned!
