Carrot Cake Love
I baked this cake with my husband… It’s the same recipe than here. We just doubled it to make the cake a bit bigger this time.
Yummy!
Doesn’t it look delicious?

Around The Apartment
Some pictures I took the other day from our apartment. The copper cake tin in the first picture is from a thrift store. I love the old patinated finish! The metal candleholders I painted are now in use. I also bought some flowers for our dining table, they are now blooming. I must say I liked them more like this, small and vivid green.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp
This is how I rewarded myself yesterday after I finished cleaning the apartment:
So delicious! This is super easy to make:
Apple Oatmeal Crisp
1 apple
50g butter
2 tbs syrup
2 tbs sugar
oats
(cinnamon)
Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Slice the apple and place the slices on the bottom of a heat resistant bowl. Melt the butter and add sugar and syrup. Add oats till the mixture feels crumbly and not wet. Spread over the apple slices. (Sprinkle some cinnamon over the oat mixture.)Put in the oven till the apple slices are soft and the oat mixture is golden brown. Serve with whipped cream, vanilla sauce or ice cream.
This is about how I did it yesterday. I don’t use any exact measurements myself, but in this recipe it’s not even necessary. It’s just a sort of “follow your gut” recipe.
Instead of the syrup and the sugar you can use brown sugar (or even just white sugar), depending on what’s in your kitchen cabinets. This is a very good recipe to remember, for example, when surprise guests arrive and you don’t have time or the ingredients to do anything else. Easy and delicious!
Ps. You can see a sneak peak from my finished dining table from the pictures! Full post coming up this week!
