I was cleaning my windows when I decided to make a mini makeover for our window frames while I was at it. They are very old and because they were originally stained black, all the scratches on the wood showed the light wood under the stain. This made them look very worn and ugly. How is it possible to make so much scratches on window frames? I don’t understand, but they looked like this when we moved in a year and a half ago.

I had some black stain (the same one I used to stain my round wood mirror) so I gave it a try. Here you can see the difference it made:

They still don’t look good but it’s an improvement!  Now the scratches are less visible and there’s no light wood showing trough. Unfortunately I run out of stain so I still have our bedroom window frame to finish…
